Torres Cetak Gol ke-1000 Liverpool

Jakarta - Nama Fernando Torres terukir sebagai pencetak gol keseribu buat Liverpool di Liga Primer. Gol itu dibuatnya ketika bikin gol pertama "Si Merah" saat menang 3-2 atas Manchester City.

Tertinggal lebih dulu 0-2 dari City dalam lanjutan pertandingan Premiership, Minggu (5/10/2008), Liverpool mulai bisa bernafas lagi lewat gol Torres di menit 54, yang memperkecil ketinggalan jadi 1-2.

Gol pembangkit semangat "The Reds", yang akhirnya meraih kemenangan 3-2 lewat tambahan gol dari Torres dan Dirk Kuyt, itu sekaligus menjadi gol keseribu buat klub tersebut semenjak format Premiership diberlakukan.
